In this process we’ve also heard hundreds of No’s from many of them, because they decided to invest that amount in some other productive plan as they could not see any ROI directly from these systems.

Quite a few numbers of times the replies we hear is that ‘’our person climbs only once a year to check, so it does not make commercial sense to invest this amount.’’

Safety standards for fall protection and the workers in the industries are like soil and tree. Trees are alive and standing because its roots are attached strongly with the soil, that is why even in the strong winds, trees don’t fall. Similarly, if safety standards are followed properly in the industries then workers can be protected.

For an industry, when it comes to fall protection first thing that comes to the client’s mind is expense and that is natural. If we do the math, the cost of not installing proper fall protection system is way more than installing it.

For example,

• In a manufacturing unit there’s a maintenance requirement which is at a height of 8 feet and a relevant fall protection system is not installed, instead, minor safety measures are taken which is not enough to safeguard the worker from a fall.
• If a worker falls and gets injured or worse dies, the cost of treating him, penalties by the government according to the labor safety act, moral effect on other employees, goodwill & reputation of the company, legal issues will all combined put a heavy dent on the company’s finances.
• Considering all these risks, installation of a relevant fall protection system is always going to prove cheaper.

How to prevent it?

When users are a long distance from their anchorage point, they run the possibility of a swing during a fall or a fall with a pendulum effect. The reason for this is that as the user’s distance from their anchoring point grows. If a user falls, the lanyard might produce a significant swing, perhaps causing a person to collide with a nearby surface/object.
